Competition Highlights:
Today marked an exciting conclusion to an incredible week of events at Fox Hollow Retirement Residence.
- The morning of the Jeopardy competition began with a stumbling start as technical difficulties plagued the opening of the first round. Things began to smooth out and the residents hit their stride, easily scoring point after point. The second round got even more competitive between 4 of the players, jostling for the gold medal, overtaking and being overtaken as the game wore on. The winner was decided by the final jeopardy question, some betting conservatively and others risking it all.
- Then it was time for Bingo, first rounds bringing chances for Funny Money and strange card layouts. Ultimately, the winner was chosen the way we at Fox Hollow always love to do, with the elimination round. Groans of defeat echoing through the room as each number called ended the game for some. The gold medal within reach, it was down to the final 2 players and as they checked their cards again and again, we couldn’t believe that they were both still in it. It was O48 that did it, Ruby finally flipping her card over, her tablemates echoing her disappointment, and Karen taking the win.
