CANADAResidents of All Seniors Care Living Centres across Canada are ready to relive the carefree days of childhood summer camp — complete with laughter, friendship, and a touch of adventure — as ASC Summer Camp returns this August 18th and 19th.

Held annually, this special two-day event is a favourite on the calendar for residents, staff,  and families alike. ASC Summer Camp invites residents to swap daily routines for a couple of days filled with nature walks, crafts, and outdoor games — and all the classic camp moments they loved as kids, right in their own backyard.

This year’s theme, “Where Memories Are Made,” features a full roster of activities, from birdhouse painting and tie-dyeing camp shirts to sing-alongs, friendship bracelet making, and even a movie under the stars. Residents can look forward to nostalgic camp lunches, s’mores by a cozy “campfire,” and good-natured competitions like staff vs. resident games.

“Our summer camp always feels magical,” says Danielle Jamieson, Regional Director of Health & Wellness for Manitoba and the event’s lead planner. “It’s the pure joy and big smiles of our residents — our ‘campers’ — as they embrace new experiences that I cherish most.”

Each residence puts its own creative spin on the event, with unique camp names, themed décor, and playful touches like “Pond Water” hydration stations and outdoor-inspired lobby displays. Staff join in the fun too, donning “Camp Counselor” name tags and encouraging everyone to get involved.

As the camp spirit spreads, families, friends, and guests are encouraged to visit, celebrate, and take part in the festivities. After all, at ASC Summer Camp — everyone belongs.
