CANADA – CANADA – The excitement of the 16th Annual All Seniors Care Seniors Games was in full swing across the country as residents competed in two classic events: Bean Bag Toss and Pétanque. Athletes brought their A-game, striving for personal bests while sharing in the camaraderie that makes the Games so special. This year, Pétanque holds national medal status, elevating the stakes for competitors nationwide!
Mr. Joshua Kuhl, Senior Executive Vice President of Operations at All Seniors Care, shared his enthusiasm for the Games: “Year after year, we see firsthand how these events bring joy, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of purpose to our residents. The dedication and spirit displayed by our senior athletes continue to inspire us all.”
At Sturgeon Creek II in Winnipeg, seasoned athletes inspired first-time participants with their skill and determination. At River Ridge II, boules throwers showcased their competitive spirit, with gold medalist Mr. Elmars set to celebrate his 102nd birthday in July. Meanwhile, at Shaftesbury Park, a resident remarked, “The games this year put a whole new spin on aging!”
During the medal ceremony at Cite Parkway in Ottawa, Silver Medalist Hubert D. was recognized by Adele from the Montfort Volunteers Association—her former teacher and now a connection to her daughter’s school. A full-circle moment that proves life really is like a box of chocolates!
Tomorrow, the competition heats up with Ladder Ball – this year’s second National Event – alongside Cornhole, promising another day of spirited gameplay and friendly rivalries.
