HAMILTON, ON – Owners of vintage and classic cars will be ‘Cruisin’ the Summit’ as they park their vehicles at Summit Heights Residence this Saturday, September 10th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The All Seniors Care senior living community is inviting car enthusiasts and the public to interact with residents and join them in a fundraiser for the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice.
An impressive 75 to 100 cars are expected to come out for the event that is also an Open House. On display will be a collection of street rods, customs, classics, and restored vehicles.
The genesis of the idea came from one of the resident’s family while they were showing their 1970s Dodge Charger at a Hamilton Area car show. “We thought that bringing a show to the seniors would be win-win-win,” said Bev Hoar and her husband Brad who have been helping the residence organize the event.
“It’s a great opportunity to have fun, reminisce, and socialize while raising money for a fantastic cause! The building is fairly new, so the car show is also a great way for the community get involved and see what they have to offer.”
Hoar explained that many people want to be a part of the event. Residents have volunteered to help and community members have donated raffle prizes. A popular local DJ will provide musical entertainment.
