On day two, older adults compete for the National Medal in Pétanque.

CANADA–The second day of the Seniors Games unfolded across All Seniors Care  retirement communities nationwide, reinforcing the event’s central theme: there’s no place like home when it’s built on heart. Inspired by the Tin Man, the day emphasized connection, encouragement, and a shared determination to “Go for gold”.

Thousands of seniors from All Seniors Care Living Centres began the day with Bean Bag Toss before competing for the National Medal in Pétanque atout. Friendly rivalry mixed easily with steady support from teammates and spectators.

“Today captured what the Games are all about: recognizing potential, no matter our age,” said Hannah Silver, Vice President of Health & Wellness.  “It’s about celebrating healthy aging and about nurturing friendships and the friendships that grow, whether they’ve long established or brand-new.”

Pétanque’s National Medal brought the energy on Day Two, with encouragement ringing out as players stepped up to throw and teammates paced out distances alongside them. Cheers, laughter, and friendly banter filled the homes as residents urged one another on, creating an atmosphere where competition and connection went hand in hand.

As one resident said, “The Tin Man found his heart through action, and today we did the same: moving and laughing together, and enjoying the joy of the Games.”

Congratulations to all medalists, athletes, spectators, and presenters who helped make Day Two such a meaningful success.

The All Seniors Care Senior Games continue through February 6 and reflect the organization’s commitment to active living and to the overarching theme of the 17th All Seniors Care Seniors Games: There’s No Place Like Our Home.
