Day 2 of the 2016 All Seniors Care Seniors Games saw big smiles, big scores and big competitions, as over 430 athletes went for gold in Wii Bowling and Archery at retirement communities across the country. Competition was tight as 66 finalists tried to win national Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Spectators could be heard cheering and banging thunder sticks throughout the buildings as personal bests were set by competitors who have been training for weeks in preparation for The Games.

Good times and memories were happening across the country. Archery competitions in Edmonton’s Laurel Heights, started slow but we had a good crowd that helped motivate the competitors, even the competitors were cheering one another on! Residents had a great time with archery and even happier to win a medal! Mrs. D., who was a gold medalist said after getting the arrow into the center of the target, “Now if I can only remember how I did that?!”

At Victoria Landing in Brandon, National Bowling Silver Medalist Cecil Bayes exclaimed in the final: “Come on let’s take care of business.” While over in Stratford at McCarthy Place 104 year old , Mrs. G. who just quit her bowling league 2 years previously stated that she ”never thought she would bowl again especially for an award” and “that it brought back so many great memories”. Things got a little more serious at Ottawa’s Chapel Hill as the local Gold medalist was advised: “Now that we have a gold medal winner we will have to send him out for drug testing!!” National medals will be presented during Closing Ceremonies across the country to:
